Destiny 2s Overpowered guns, and how we can change them.     

Mida Multi-Tool

First things first let’s talk about Destiny 2, Destiny 2 is the second game in a 10 year contract that Bungie has with Activision Destiny 2’s processor Destiny had little to no story but had great Gun mechanics because why would you fix what isn’t broken. In Destiny 2 There is a problem, but ‘The Mida Multi Tool’ a fast firing Scout Rifle which needs to be nerfed. I don’t think the impact needs to be changed but maybe handling but for sure. The ROF (Rate Of Fire) it is too Overpowered It needs to figure out what it wants to be an Auto Rifle or Scout Rifle. I am not saying it can’t have the Auto fire perk it’s a great perk, it needs to be made more difficult to handle.

Origin Story (Different Gun)

The Origin Story auto rifle is a fast shooting easy to control Auto Rifle. It has a super high range with a high impact. There are things that could be changed to nerf it (make it easier to use or like a airsoft gun that does damage) like Range or Impact or even Rate of Fire , or even give a buff to other guns such as Scathelock or some pulse rifles to give this gun a run for its money.  This gun is fun to use because it is overpowered, but I feel like it needs to change because when you’re on the receiving end of this gun there is just a horrible feeling when you die and see that it you were killed by this thing. Im not saying there needs to be new guns the point im trying to get across is the current guns need to be modified to get rid of the ‘meta’ (guns that are commonly used because they are good)

Coldheart

Many consider the new weapon type ‘Trace rifle’ too strong? As some believe the gun gets hit points too fast and that there needs to be a counter introduced in the game. others will argue that the Coldheart trace rifle isn’t overpowered or too fast, and will also go to say that there is currently a counter it is called being fast and avoiding a blue beam of light which you do mid-way through the campaign. In my personal opinion, the Coldheart is not overpowered it is the gun it is, meaning that it’s not trying to be something it isn’t it has proved itself to be its own gun. And the best way to avoid it is to just move around a lot, which is also easier for Hunters because Hunters are obviously the best class in the game.

Sweet Business

What is the best way to describe the gun sweet business? You may be asking yourself it is like a mini-gun a gun that goes from low Rate of Fire to high Rate of fire known as both over powered and another thing to avoid if you’re fast enough. Just like every gun in the game, I don’t think its Rate of Fire or the Impact on the gun I think the major issue is the handling. If there isn’t enough of a kick or Recoil in the weapon its sights are easier to stay on target (you or the person you are shooting at). And that is what makes sweet business overpowered not just thought to be.   

Sunshot

 

Sunshot is a solar hand canon some think it is over powered and others think it is because of the mad damage it does when you get a headshot, so very crispy to some the gun is crazy to others the gun is eh it basically depends on how you use it. It depends on how you look at it “one shot one kill?! I’m getting my mom!” or the “yo this gun be mad bois” or it’s just the exotic weapon you chose, but let’s not forget that it’s an exotic more powerful harder to find, so it needs an ‘edge’ to make people think “wow this gun is so good man im going to try and find more exotics!”

Conclusion

The reason I am writing this editorial is because, I feel like there needs to be an explanation in the Destiny 2 community instead of people getting mad at each other and saying that other people’s opinions don’t mean anything. There are good things and bad things towards each of the guns described in this editorial. But all opinions and voices matter and I feel that stuff like this needs to be heard. I am not trying to make Bungie do anything rather than get other people to understand why the ‘meta’ needs to be changed or why there can’t be a ‘meta’ thank you for taking the time to read this editorial.
