Canadians aren't aware that their country's greenhouse gas emissions are rising dramatically and quickly; specifically Saskatchewanian's. Greenhouse gas emissions are getting worse and worse as time goes on. Canadians need to quickly reduce their individual emission rates since they are producing a lot of greenhouse gas emissions. If Canadians would like to keep their country strong and healthy for many generations to come. We need our civilians, communities, and businesses to start reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We as Canadians need to start caring for the environment as soon as possible, so why not start right now?

Although Canada is one of the lower greenhouse gas missionary countries, it still doesn't change the fact that Canadians have one of the highest greenhouse gas emissions, per person. This is because every Canadian is driving their own vehicle from teenagers to elders. I really believe that we can significantly reduce air pollution by correcting our simple mistakes. Instead of plugging in vehicles, starting vehicles beforehand, having an unnecessary amount of lights turned on, and using single-use plastic. These, and many other daily Canadian living decisions, contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions into the climate. We can find solutions to our daily lives by using public bus transportation, walking, biking, limiting single-use plastic, and using less electricity since electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels.

Saskatchewan is one of the top provinces that sends the most harmful greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, in Canada. Saskatchewan gets a lot of sunlight and wind. Because of that, I believe Saskatchewan should start setting up more solar panels, windmills, and hydroelectric dams, which will decrease the emission rate in Saskatchewan by a lot. Saskatchewan relies 81% on natural gas and coal. While the remaining 19% are still greenhouse gases, they are less harmful to the environment. Quebec is doing an excellent job with its greenhouse gas emissions by using 99% hydro and wind energy, the one percent is petroleum. Other provinces, including Saskatchewan, should strive to be more like Quebec, in my opinion. Quebec makes excellent use of its resources by producing power utilising natural methods while limiting harmful emissions. Saskatchewan needs to set up more windmills, solar panels, and hydroelectric dams. The main problem I see with this is the expense, and that solar panels won’t help much in the harsh winters in Saskatchewan.

If we start taking mini actions towards perfecting these ideas, we would be a step closer to a more friendly environmental country. We may start by informing our family and friends about emissions and sharing the word on social media.
